The Chauncey F. Lufkin III Foundation applauds Apex for Youth for starting a new annual tradition to encourage Asian-American leadership in the young professional community. On October 6th, 2017, Apex for Youth held their Inaugural Summit at Google's offices at 85 10th Avenue in Manhattan. The event was exceptional and can serve as an example to other non-profits who seek to engage the corporate philanthropic sector in effective ways.
Not only did they offer current Apex supporters (like CFL3 Foundation Director, Cara Familet!) leadership training, but they also addressed the broader audience of employees at Google, of Asian-descent, to generate their interest in the work of Apex for Youth.
Several Apex for Youth friends from previous events were there to flesh out the festivities for a "full capacity" crowd.
Leading the afternoon of private training was professional/motivational coach, Michael Balaoing, who is the Founder/CEO of Candlelion. His clients include Amazon, Uber and Sheryl Sandberg.

The leadership seminar was followed by a mini-conference with two Apex for Youth supporters Lisa Lee, Google/Alphabet, VP of Audit (and Cara Familet's partner for Leadership Training!), and Preeti Sriratan, President and Chairman of the Board for Apex for Youth., an award winning New York City architect.
The after party hosted a celebrity lineup that included Ronny Chieng of The Daily Show,, apl.de.Ap of the Black Eyed Peas, and !llmind, a hip hop music Producer who has worked with Drake and Kanye West.
For those of you who haven't visted Google offices in New York, here are a few pictures from the building's ground floor.
CFL3 Foundation would like to thank Michael Lee and Alex Wang for coordinating this marquis event. For more information on this organization, visit www.apexforyouth.org.
